FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What counts as an online website?

HTTP 2xx is Online, including an eventual 2xx after a redirect. HTTP 403 and 429 are Restricted, not Offline. HTTP 404 means the page was not found but the server responded.

Does this check whether a domain is registered?

No. It checks whether a website responds to HTTP or HTTPS requests. DNS errors are reported separately. Registrar and WHOIS details belong to our DNS & Registrar Checker.

What happens with redirects?

The checker follows up to five safe HTTP redirects and displays the final URL and status, without a detailed redirect chain. Use Redirect Checker for complete hop analysis.

Why can a website show 403 or 429?

Some sites block automated requests or rate-limit traffic. These sites are reachable but restricted to this checker, so they are not shown as Offline.

Does the checker store my domain list?

The application processes domains temporarily during each request and does not save submitted lists, scan histories, or results to application files or a database. Standard web-server logs may still exist.
